APCM May 23rdWe will be holding our Annual Meeting on Sunday 23rd May at St Peter’s at 12 noon

Fr David’s Sponsored Bike Ride UpdateFr David has so far 87 Mls during May and has ridden every day in May which has been a challenge when you consider the weather so far!

Pentecost is on Sunday 23rd MayThis would seem the ideal time for us to for us, in the power of the Holy Spirit, to restart and refresh our parish activities in as much as we are able to do so. At the Annual Meeting we will be sharing our plans for the future and we would be happy to hear any thoughts that you might have which will grow our church.

If you want to talk to someone, please do not hesitate to give Fr David or any of the other clergy a ring

Dear Church Member

Firstly, please excuse that this letter has not been addressed to you personally; however, I felt that this year it was more important than normal to reach out to every member of our worshipping community. I am writing to you in connection with the claim that I will be submitting to the Inland Revenue in the near future on behalf of this Mission Community.

Due to the closure of our churches for a large proportion of last year, inevitably our income fell below that of previous years, which still needed to be subsidised by St. Peter’s Hostel for Men, while our expenses, just like yours at home, continued to rise.

In view of this, it is vitally important that we are able to reclaim as much as possible in the way of Gift Aid from the Inland Revenue. Therefore, I am asking every one of you to try to remember as much of the money that you have given to the church during 2020 in ways other than through your weekly giving. Have you paid for something for the church; have you cleaned your church, have you purchased flowers? If so, we can reclaim 25% of what you have purchased or donated. Please remember that you do not need to supply receipts for this money.

This Gift Aid claim does not cost you anything! We are reclaiming the money from those taxes that you have already paid to the Inland Revenue. I can hear some of you saying now that you don’t pay Tax. This does not matter, as I can reclaim this money under another scheme called GADS. All you need to do is highlight that you do not pay tax on the form overleaf.

Adapting those famous words from 1914 from Field-Marshall Lord Kitchener:

‘YOUR CHURCH NEEDS YOU’

Please complete the form overleaf and return to me, either personally, or by placing into one of the Alms boxes in our churches, as soon as is possible

Thank you for your help with this
